Benabarre

Benabarre (Catalan Benavarri) is a town of the comarca of Baja Ribagorza (Catalan Baixa Ribagorça) in the province of Huesca, Aragon, Spain.

Local Ribagorçan dialect is a variant of Catalan, which has some transitional traits to Aragonese.

Benabarre was the historical capital of the County of Ribagorza (Catalan Ribagorça), which also included the valleys of Graus and Benasque and the comarca of Alta Ribagorça (capital Pont de Suert), now in the province of Lleida, Catalonia.

Nowadays, the more populous towns of Graus[?] (capital of the Aragonese comarca) and Benasque have taken preeminence over Benabarre.
