Banking is the business carried out by banks and other similar organisations - typically holding money or valuables for safekeeping, and lending money.

Typically, a bank or a banking-related business makes its net profits from transaction fees on financial services or the interest spread on resources it holds in trust for clients while paying them interest on the asset.
