Auntie Mame

Auntie Mame is a 1958 film which tells the story of a young boy who is put into the care of his madcap aunt. It stars Rosalind Russell, Forrest Tucker[?], Coral Browne[?], Roger Smith[?], Peggy Cass and Jan Handzlik[?].

The movie was adapted by Betty Comden and Adolph Green from the play by Jerome Lawrence[?] and Robert E. Lee[?] from the novel by Patrick Dennis[?]. It was directed by Morton DaCosta[?].

It was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actress in a Leading Role (Rosalind Russell), Best Actress in a Supporting Role (Peggy Cass), Best Art Direction-Set Decoration, Black-and-White or Color, Best Cinematography, Color, Best Film Editing and Best Picture.

Auntie Mame was made into a Broadway musical, Mame[?], with music by Jerry Herman, which was made into a 1974 movie starring Lucille Ball, Beatrice Arthur[?], Robert Preston[?], Bruce Davison[?], Kirby Furlong[?], Jane Connell[?] and Joyce Van Patten[?]. It was adapted by Paul Zindel[?] and directed by Gene Saks[?].
