Aslan

Aslan is the allegorical Christ figure in The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis; the lion in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. In the course of the book, Aslan is put to death, but subsequently resurrected, and makes occasional appearances in the remaining books of the series. Throughout the series it is often repeated that he is "not a tame lion," although at many times he is very gentle, loving and lovable. The name is Turkish for "lion".

See also Tash[?].

The Aslan are an alien race from the Traveller roleplaying game universe. The creator of the universe, Marc Miller[?], coined this term for them as they are a lion-like race of hunter-pouncer ancestry.
