Archives New Zealand

Archives New Zealand: the New Zealand government 'public service department' charged with 'the custody and preservation of the public archives of New Zealand' (from the Archives Act 1957). Formed in 2000 after the separation of National Archives from the Department of Internal Affairs.

The Treaty of Waitangi is on display in the Constitution Room at the department's headquarters in Wellington.
