Aphyllophorales

Aphyllophorales are basidiomycetes that lack soft gills (lamellae), but are also hymenomycete as are boletes[?] and agarics[?]. This assemblage of fungi is polyphyletic[?]. Aphyllophorales have a smooth hymenophore, or have pores such as the boletes, or teeth, or irregular gills. Major groups are the polypores (Hymenochaetales[?], Polyporales[?], Ganodermatales[?]), and various coral fungi[?].
