Antofagasta Region of Chile

Antofagasta is the second region of Chile. It is also known as Region II by the chileans. It's situated in the extreme north of the country. Some 1300Km from the capital Santiago.

Climate

Mostly a desert climate. With variations from costal to normal and high-land desert.

Economic Activities

This is mostly a mining region. With mining related activities accounting for 59% of the regional Economy.
