Anthrax is the name of a New York City-based heavy metal rock group, who released their first full-length album in 1983.

They also had an appearance on the television show Married with Children.

Anthrax were also an anarcho punk band formed in Gravesend[?], Kent, England during the early 1980s. They released singles on the Crass Records and Small wonder[?] labels, as well as having a track on the Crass Records released Bullshit Detector Volume 2 in 1982.
