Ann Coulter

Ann Coulter is an American author, journalist, and attorney at law. She is the author of Slander: Liberal Lies About the American Right, Treason: Liberal Treachery from the Cold War to the War on Terrorism, and High Crimes and Misdemeanors: The Case Against Bill Clinton.

A prominant conservative, Coulter has been an outspoken critic of many liberal and Democratic Party movements over the years. During her days as a lawyer, she was a strong opponent of Anita Hill's charges against Clarence Thomas, and actively fought against the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment.

Coulter has a reputation for being quite sensationalistic[?] and radical. Somewhat tongue-in-cheek, she has advocated that America invade the Middle East and convert Muslim leaders to Christanity, and once expressed regret that Timothy McVeigh did not blow up the New York Times, a frequent target of Coulter's criticism, along with other proponents of the media's percieved liberal media bias. She worked briefly for the Washington Post, and is now a syndicated columnist for a variety of different publications.

Coulter's good looks have also contributed to her controversial reputation. Some of her critics have accused her of exploiting her beauty for political purposes, while others believe it is the only reason for her success. She always features prominently on the covers of her books and often poses for publicity photographs in revealing outfits.
