The Anhinga (Anhinga anhinga), is sometimes called Snakebird, Darter or American Darter. It is closely related to Indian Darter (Anhinga melanogaster) and African Darter (Anhinga rufa). It is a member of the Anhingidae family.
The Anhinga is a water bird of the warmer parts of North America and South America. It is a Cormorant-like bird that has a very long neck. It often swims with only the neck above water. It is a fish-eater.
