Angry Johnny

"Angry Johnny" was the first hit song by alternative musician Poe released in 1995. The song was heralded as a feminist achievement, as it lyrically addressed the relationship between violence and sex. The song's catchy lyric, "I wanna kill you/ I wanna blow you.../ away" was often the only noted part of the song in critical review. Poe seemingly faded into obscurity after this one hit until the year 2000 when she released her follow up album Haunted.
