Aneska

Aneska are a British rock-metal band based in Wolverhampton. The band consists of guitarist Simon Glazebrook, bassist Sam Francis, drummer Matt Stubs and singer Daniel Evans (they also use a drum machine).

The group formed in September 2001 after Matt Stubs was introduced to the other members by Andy Blackburn[?], then of Optophobia[?][1] (http://optophobia.cjb.net). They immediately began writing songs and practicing at a local studio, The Beat Foundry[?]. Less than six month after they formed, on the 28th March 2002, Aneska performed their first live show at the Little Civic[?], supporting local giants Hyper Hyper Girl Lover. That first gig sold out, probably due to Hyper Hyper Girl Lover's popularity, and received a very positive review from UltimateMetal.com [2] (http://www.ultimatemetal.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22870). Since then, the band has played a number of concerts in the West Midlands, notably with Dury Falls[?] (which includes ex-members of Kilkus[?]), Opiate[?], thisGIRL[?], Nora[?] and Tin Omen[?].

In June 2002, the group recorded a three-track demo entitled More To Burn, which was produced in just five hours of studio time. The band then began burning[?] copies of the promo CD, making the card cases and distributing the demo themselves, by hand and post. In February 2003, the band recorded a number of songs at Robannas studios[?] [3] (http://www.robannas-studios.co.uk/) in Birmingham, including new recordings of the three demo tracks, and made appearances on BBC radio and airtime on Virgin radio[?] to promote the recordings. However, these tracks are no longer due for traditional release, but have been dubbed The Lost EP and will be released as MP3s only, via the band's site.
