Andie MacDowell

Andie MacDowell is an American actress born April 21, 1958, Gaffney, South Carolina, USA. She worked as a model before filming.

Andy MacDowell's film debut was in Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes (1984). It was a nice start, even though the producers decided to have her lines dubbed by Glenn Close, as her Southern accent did not match the British aristocrat she played. She played a small part in St. Elmo's Fire[?] (1985), but her film career seemed to have ended.

Four years later it suddenly all changed. Steven Soderbergh made his first film Sex, Lies, and Videotape[?] (1989) and Andie MacDowell proved that she did have talent for acting, not only beauty. One year later she had another critically acclaimed performance in Green Card (1990). She received Golden Globe nominations for both films.

She achieved her biggest success co-starring with Hugh Grant in the box-office (1994) hit comedy Four Weddings and a Funeral.

Andie Macdowell has a son and two daughters.
