Anaheim is a city in Orange County, south-west California, a part of the greater Los Angeles conurbation[?] to the east of Long Beach. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 328,014.

Founded by German settlers in 1857 and incorporated on February 10, 1870, Anaheim developed into an industrial centre, producing electronics, aircraft parts, and canned fruit. It is the site of Disneyland, an amusement park which opened in 1955.

Anahiem's name is derived from the German word for home (heim) and its location along the Santa Ana River[?]. Prior to Anaheim it was reffered to as Campo Aleman (Spanish for German Camp).
