Amy Tan

Amy Tan (譚恩美) (born February 19, 1952) is a Chinese American author

Born in Oakland, California, Tan is best known for the critically acclaimed The Joy Luck Club[?]. This book has been made into a feature film. She has also written several other books, including The Kitchen God's Wife[?] and The Hundred Secret Senses[?].

An author of what she calls "her inspiration; her mother," Tan uses traditional Chinese customs clashing with American customs as the main foundation for her works.
