As the founding editor of the pioneering Sniffin' Glue magazine, Mark Perry[?] gained attention in the British punk scene. He quit the magazine to form his own punk band.
Comprising just Mark P and "Alex Nobody" the pair described their music as "closest to Can[?] and reggae-type rhythms," an alternative to the wave of Sex Pistols clones.
The band's debut single was "Love Lie Limp," a free flexidisc. The group's first proper single was "How Much Longer/ You Bastard" issued December 1977. "How Much Longer" criticized youth culture apathy.
Soon thereafter, Mark Perry's chief collaborator, Alex Ferguson, quit, causing a rift that almost ended the band.
A reggae dub single, "Life after Life," was released and a well-received album, The Image has Cracked.
