Allectus

Allectus, usurper emperor in the west, ruled 293 - 296

Allectus was the finance minister of Carausius. when Carausius lost control of northern Gaul, Allectus assassinated him and assumed his rule. Allectus proved unable to resist the aggression of Constantius I, who invaded Britain in 296, and defeated Allectus. Allectus died in battle.
