Akvavit

Akvavit, also known as aquavit, is a Scandinavian alcoholic beverage. Like vodka, it is distilled from potato or grain, and is clear and strong. It is flavored with caraway seeds. It is often used in a similar way to vodka, being mixed with tomato juice, or in a Martini. Its name comes from the Danish for "water of life".
