Acmeist poetry

Acmeism, in terms of poetry, was a school which emerged in the early 1900s in Russia. Major poets in this school include Osip Mandelstam, Anna Akhmatova, Sergei Gorodetsky[?] and Nikolai Gumilyev[?]. It is both confessional and fundamentally modernist in its general tone and tenor. The group met originally in The Stray Dog Cafe, St Petersburg[?], then a celebrated meeting place for artists and writers.
