A Soldier's Story

A Soldier's Story is a 1984 film which tells the story of an African-American officer who investigates a racially-charged murder on an Army base during World War II. It stars Howard Rollins[?], Adolph Caesar[?], David Alan Grier[?], Robert Townsend[?], Denzel Washington, Patti LaBelle and Wings Hauser[?].

The movie was adapted by Charles Fuller[?] from his play, A Soldier's Play. It was directed by Norman Jewison.

It was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Adolph Caesar), Best Picture and Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material from Another Medium.
