Locations where anthrax has been found in the 2001 anthrax attack:

Florida

American Media - anthrax found on keyboard of victim Robert Stevens and in mail room. One other person infected.

Boca Raton post office - trace amounts in the area that sorts mail addressed to American Media.

New York City

NBC offices - on a letter from Trenton, New Jersey postmarked September 16 to Tom Brokaw. A letter sent to the New York Post newspaper offices contained anthrax. Offices of Governor George Pataki where state police who had inspected the NBC offices had been. ! person died and 4 others infected in New York City.

Washington, D.C.

Tom Daschle's office near the Capitol, on a letter from Trenton, New Jersey postmarked October 8. The Hart Senate Office building where Daschle's office was located was closed for over 3 months for decontamination.

Some 20 other sites in Washington, DC were also contaminated, including the CIA, Walter Reed Medical Center, and the Supreme Court. Two postal workers in Washington died of anthrax and 3 other persons were infected.

Trenton, NJ[?] Five people infected at mail facilities that handled government and New York City mail. At least 3 anthrax containing letters were postmarked in Trenton.

Indianapolis, IN[?] A machine sent for repair from the Trenton NJ post office was found to be contaminated.

Kansas City, MO[?] Received contaminated mail from Washington, DC post office.

Connecticut A 94 year women died from anthrax probably received through the mail.

False Positives: Dozens of locations around the world reported initial tests that were positive for anthrax. Except for the above locations, further tests ruled out the presence of anthrax spores.

Nevada

Microsoft Licensing office in Reno - A check sent to Malaysia from the company was returned with pornographic pictures, one of which was initially thought to contain anthrax. Secondary tests ruled this a false positive.
