Zundert

Zundert (population: 20,272) is a town in the southern Netherlands, in the province of North Brabant. The municipality covers an area of 119.94 km² (of which 0.26 km² water).

The municipality of Zundert also includes the following towns, villages and townships: Achtmaal[?], Klein-Zundert[?], Rijsbergen, Wernhout[?].

Zundert is one of the most agricultural municipalities of the Netherlands. 10% of all boomkwekers (nursery-men) work in Zundert.

Zundert was expanded in 1997 with the former municipality of Rijsbergen.

Zundert is the birthplace of the famous painter Vincent van Gogh.

Zundert, Achtmaal, Klein Zundert, Wernhout and Rijsbergen were all liberated in October 1944 by the American 104th Infantry Division "the Timberwolf Division" 104th infantry division homepage (http://www.104infdiv.org/index.htm)
