Zanbatou

A zanbatou (lit. "horse-slaying sword") was a gigantic sword, akin to an enormous blade on a pole invented to combat cavalrymen by cutting their horses out from under them. The zanbatou only stayed in service for a short period of time as they were deemed far too heavy for normal use.
