Yosemite Valley, California

Yosemite Valley is a town located in Mariposa County, California. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 265.

Geography Yosemite Valley is located at 37°44'36" North, 119°34'33" West (37.743324, -119.575724)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 5.5 km² (2.1 mi²). 5.5 km² (2.1 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 265 people, 104 households, and 50 families residing in the town. The population density is 48.5/km² (125.6/mi²). There are 123 housing units at an average density of 22.5/km² (58.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 87.92% White, 0.75% African American, 2.26% Native American, 1.13% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 4.91% from other races, and 3.02% from two or more races. 15.09% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 104 households out of which 27.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 43.3% are married couples living together, 2.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 51.0% are non-families. 44.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 1.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.02 and the average family size is 2.90.

In the town the population is spread out with 20.0% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 50.9% from 25 to 44, 20.0% from 45 to 64, and 1.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 173.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 178.9 males.

The median income for a household in the town is $58,393, and the median income for a family is $61,750. Males have a median income of $48,542 versus $24,524 for females. The per capita income for the town is $28,414. 0.0% of the population and 0.0% of families are below the poverty line.
