Yeomen of the Guard

The Yeomen of the Guard, also known as the Beefeaters or the Tower Warders are the guardians of the Tower of London. They wear distinctive red uniforms and are responsible for looking after prisoners at the Tower, safeguarding the British crown jewels, and acting as tour guides.

Gilbert and Sullivan wrote an operetta featuring them, called The Yeomen of the Guard.
