Yellow Pig Day

July 17 is Yellow Pig Day (aka Yellow Pig's Day), which comes from the association of yellow pigs with the number 17 made by David Kelly, founder of the Hampshire College Summer Studies in Mathematics (HCSSiM).

Yellow Pig Day is celebrated during the summer program, and is also a day for regional HCSSiM alumni reunions. Some HCSSiM alumni go on to collect yellow pigs and interesting facts about the number 17.
