Yellow Dog Linux

Yellow Dog Linux is a Linux distribution for Apple Computer's Macintosh line of computers that use a PowerPC and/or G4 microprocessor. Yellow Dog Linux was the first Linux distribution to work well on Macintosh hardware. Yellow Dog Linux is loosely based on Red Hat Linux in that it can use RPM software packages.

Yellow Dog Linux can use either the graphical BootX boot-loader or the text-based "yaboot" boot-loader for loading when the Mac first boots up.
