Winter Lent

Winter Lent is the second-greatest fasting period in the church year in Eastern Christianity, and prepares Christians for Christmas, also known as the "Feast of the Nativity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ". It is in many ways similar to Great Lent, although the fasting guidelines are somewhat less strict, and there is typically not a Liturgy of Pre-sanctified Gifts.
