Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 13,991 people, 5,937 households, and 3,775 families residing in the city. The population density is 805.1/km² (2,085.3/mi²). There are 6,407 housing units at an average density of 368.7/km² (954.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 90.45% White, 0.66% African American, 0.70% Native American, 2.22% Asian, 0.16% Pacific Islander, 3.15% from other races, and 2.65% from two or more races. 6.94% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 5,937 households out of which 30.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.5% are married couples living together, 8.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 36.4% are non-families. 28.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
