Wilkins Micawber

Wilkins Micawber is a fictional character from Charles Dickens' novel David Copperfield. He was modelled on a person introduced to Dickens by his younger brother Alfred Lambert Dickens[?].

His name has become synonymous with someone who lives in hopeful expectation.
