(Note: I combined and edited some previous entries to create this one, so I didn't think it was appropriate to carry forward the original list of supporters. There was no real opposition, except that one Wikipedian felt it was uneccesary and distacting to boldface a term that was already the title of the article).
You should separate the part about multiple links of the same term. This is a different issue from the one on highlighting rules. I always try to follow the highlighting rule presented here (and have edited some articles I've found to conform to that rule) but sometimes it is more sensible to link everything possible (for example, in a list of presidents, linking every "Republican" and "Democrat" makes more sense that nust picking one or a few to link them. -- BRG
The talk on birth and death dates was deleted. A standard and discussion took place on the Manual of Style. -- Ram-Man
