Wikipedia:Bug reports

(Bug reports submitted under Phase II of the Wikipedia software, in use before July 20, 2002, have been moved to Wikipedia:Bug reports/Phase II and are considered obsolete. If one of these problems is persisting with the current software, then please use the link above to report it.)

Please do not report incorrect information, misspellings, etc in articles as software bugs. Edit the article and fix it yourself, or ask about them in the "Talk" page -- click the "Discuss this page" link in the sidebar when viewing the page in question.

Hints on producing a report/request

You don't have to be logged into SourceForge to use the trackers; you can submit anonymously. But if you do, please fill in a valid e-mail address in the box after the bug description so that you can be sent e-mail when the bug is updated. This is important in case the developer needs more information about how to reproduce the bug.

Please make sure you describe your operating system, which browser you use, and your user settings such as skin and quickbar options. If your problem is visual, attaching a screen shot is a good idea.

Discussing reports/requests

SourceForge is a tool for software developers, not a discussion forum. To discuss bug reports and feature requests, try the Wikipedia-L mailing list. Sometimes developers may reject, or misunderstand a bug report or feature request and close a report that you think is still valid. If you believe there's still an issue, you can reopen it and try to make a better explanation, or you can take it to the mailing list.
