Wikipedia:Sign your posts on talk pages

Redirected from Wikipedia:Wikipedians using foreign-character sigs

One of Wikipedia's guidelines:

Sign your posts on Talk pages.

Some wikipedia users prefer that you sign your posts on talk pages. This makes it easier to follow discussions and understand who said what. To automatically sign your posts, add four tildes (~~~~) to add your name and the time or three tildes (~~~) to add just your name. (See how to edit a page. For this to work you must be logged in).

If you chose to contribute to wikipedia without logging in, you can consider manually signing your posts with pseudonym or tag such as --anon.

If your preferred signature consists of non-ASCII characters (Chinese for example), you are encouraged to use ASCII characters in them as well. This is because not everyone can view certain characters, and in their proper place is at best a box or other replacement character.

See Wikipedia:Talk page for accepted conventions and guidelines regarding the use of talk pages.
