Wheeling is a city located in Livingston County, Missouri. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 268.

Geography Wheeling is located at 39°47'12" North, 93°23'7" West (39.786619, -93.385353)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.8 km² (0.3 mi²). 0.8 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 268 people, 100 households, and 71 families residing in the city. The population density is 323.4/km² (835.6/mi²). There are 115 housing units at an average density of 138.8/km² (358.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 99.25% White, 0.00% African American, 0.75% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.75% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 100 households out of which 34.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 59.0% are married couples living together, 7.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 29.0% are non-families. 26.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 16.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.68 and the average family size is 3.20.

In the city the population is spread out with 32.8% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 25.0% from 25 to 44, 19.8% from 45 to 64, and 15.7% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 103.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 93.5 males.

The median income for a household in the city is $26,154, and the median income for a family is $35,208. Males have a median income of $23,750 versus $17,917 for females. The per capita income for the city is $13,150. 23.7% of the population and 16.4% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 36.4% are under the age of 18 and 8.9% are 65 or older.
