Wheaton-Glenmont is a census-designated place[?] located in Montgomery County, Maryland. The CDP is designated to include the two unincorporated communities of Wheaton and Glenmont[?].

Geography Wheaton-Glenmont is located at 39°3'13" North, 77°3'33" West (39.053658, -77.059071)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the place has a total area of 26.5 km² (10.2 mi²). 26.5 km² (10.2 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 57,694 people, 19,596 households, and 13,971 families residing in the area. The population density is 2,175.4/km² (5,635.1/mi²). There are 20,125 housing units at an average density of 758.8/km² (1,965.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the area is 49.92% White, 18.83% African American, 0.40% Native American, 12.16% Asian, 0.06% Pacific Islander, 13.26% from other races, and 5.37% from two or more races. 25.92% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 19,596 households out of which 34.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.5% are married couples living together, 13.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 28.7% are non-families. 22.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.93 and the average family size is 3.39.

In the specified area the population is spread out with 24.9% under the age of 18, 8.4% from 18 to 24, 32.7% from 25 to 44, 22.2% from 45 to 64, and 11.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 95.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 93.0 males.

The median income for a household in the area is $59,211, and the median income for a family is $62,295. Males have a median income of $39,064 versus $32,578 for females. The per capita income for the area is $23,927. 8.5% of the population and 6.4% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 11.0% are under the age of 18 and 7.1% are 65 or older.
