Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 71.5 km² (27.6 mi²). 68.7 km² (26.5 mi²) of it is land and 2.8 km² (1.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 3.98% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 533 people, 236 households, and 160 families residing in the town. The population density is 7.8/km² (20.1/mi²). There are 360 housing units at an average density of 5.2/km² (13.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 98.31% White, 0.00% African American, 0.19% Native American, 0.19% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.56% from other races, and 0.75% from two or more races. 1.31% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
