Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 3,976 people, 1,131 households, and 995 families residing in the city. The population density is 150.9/km² (391.0/mi²). There are 1,220 housing units at an average density of 46.3/km² (120.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 94.06% White, 0.48% African American, 0.48% Native American, 0.83% Asian, 0.08% Pacific Islander, 2.29% from other races, and 1.79% from two or more races. 4.85% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 1,131 households out of which 52.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 79.1% are married couples living together, 6.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 12.0% are non-families. 9.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 3.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
