Weimer Township, Minnesota

Weimer Township is a township located in Jackson County, Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 172.

Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 90.4 km² (34.9 mi²). 79.3 km² (30.6 mi²) of it is land and 11.2 km² (4.3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 12.35% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 172 people, 67 households, and 50 families residing in the township. The population density is 2.2/km² (5.6/mi²). There are 79 housing units at an average density of 1.0/km² (2.6/mi²). Everybody in town is white. There are 67 households out of which 34.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 73.1% are married couples living together, 3.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 23.9% are non-families. 22.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.57 and the average family size is 3.00.

In the township the population is spread out with 25.0% under the age of 18, 5.8% from 18 to 24, 20.9% from 25 to 44, 32.0% from 45 to 64, and 16.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 44 years. For every 100 females there are 126.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 115.0 males.

The median income for a household in the township is $31,667, and the median income for a family is $44,167. Males have a median income of $25,625 versus $16,250 for females. The per capita income for the township is $16,587. 4.1% of the population and 4.2% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 0.0% are under the age of 18 and 7.4% are 65 or older.
