Waverly is a town located in Chambers County, Alabama. As of the 2000 census, the population of the town is 184.

Geography The town has a total area of 7.1 km² (2.7 mi²). 7.1 km² (2.7 mi²) of it is land and 0.0 km² (0.0 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.37% water.

Demographics As of 2000, there are 184 people, 76 households, and 50 families residing in the town. The population density is 26.0/km² (67.3/mi²). There are 87 housing units at an average density of 12.3 persons/km² (31.8 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 80.98% White, 19.02% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 76 households out of which 28.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.6% are married couples living together, 11.8% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, and 32.9% are non-families. 32.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 14.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
