Wassily Kandinsky

Wassily Kandinsky (or Vasily Kandinsky) (December 16, 1866 - December 13, 1944) was a painters and art theorist. He was born in Russia but lived for many years in Paris and Munich. He was one of the founders of the Blaue Reiter and also taught at the Bauhaus for some years.

Paintings by Kandinsky have sold for as much as US$15 million.
