Warden is a city located in Grant County, Washington. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 2,544.

Geography Warden is located at 46°57'59" North, 119°2'35" West (46.966250, -119.043138)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 5.6 km² (2.2 mi²). 5.4 km² (2.1 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.33% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 2,544 people, 720 households, and 581 families residing in the city. The population density is 467.7/km² (1,212.2/mi²). There are 790 housing units at an average density of 145.2/km² (376.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 41.55% White, 0.20% African American, 0.90% Native American, 0.31% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 54.09% from other races, and 2.95% from two or more races. 71.82% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 720 households out of which 55.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.8% are married couples living together, 11.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 19.2% are non-families. 16.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.53 and the average family size is 3.97.

In the city the population is spread out with 40.1% under the age of 18, 10.0% from 18 to 24, 28.3% from 25 to 44, 14.8% from 45 to 64, and 6.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 25 years. For every 100 females there are 105.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 101.5 males.

The median income for a household in the city is $31,071, and the median income for a family is $33,409. Males have a median income of $27,450 versus $19,875 for females. The per capita income for the city is $9,922. 23.1% of the population and 20.4% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 27.1% are under the age of 18 and 24.6% are 65 or older.
