Wang Laboratories

Wang Laboratories was a computer company founded in the 1950s by Dr. An Wang. The company was headquartered in Lowell, Massachusetts and at its peak in the 1980s, Wang employed over 30,000 people.

The company specialized on computers designed specifically for word processing and did not foresee and hence was unable to compete against PC based word processors in the 1980s. The company eventually went bankrupt.
