Walpack Township, New Jersey

Walpack Township is a township located in Sussex County, New Jersey. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 41.

Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 64.0 km² (24.7 mi²). 62.3 km² (24.1 mi²) of it is land and 1.7 km² (0.6 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.63% water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 41 people, 20 households, and 12 families residing in the township. The population density is 0.7/km² (1.7/mi²). There are 34 housing units at an average density of 0.5/km² (1.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 100.00% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 20 households out of which 20.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.0% are married couples living together, 10.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 40.0% are non-families. 40.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.05 and the average family size is 2.75.

In the township the population is spread out with 19.5% under the age of 18, 2.4% from 18 to 24, 19.5% from 25 to 44, 31.7% from 45 to 64, and 26.8% who are 65 years of age or older.
