Waller is a city located in Texas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 2,092.

Geography Waller is located at 30°3'32" North, 95°55'35" West (30.058752, -95.926336)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.9 km² (1.5 mi²). None of the area is covered with water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 2,092 people, 768 households, and 530 families residing in the city. The population density is 542.1/km² (1,401.1/mi²). There are 842 housing units at an average density of 218.2/km² (563.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 66.20% White, 21.70% African American, 0.29% Native American, 0.86% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 9.89% from other races, and 1.05% from two or more races. 20.17% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 768 households out of which 37.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.0% are married couples living together, 14.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.9% are non-families. 21.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.72 and the average family size is 3.19.

In the city the population is spread out with 28.9% under the age of 18, 15.4% from 18 to 24, 28.5% from 25 to 44, 17.7% from 45 to 64, and 9.5% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 29 years. For every 100 females there are 98.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 94.5 males.

The median income for a household in the city is $33,162, and the median income for a family is $42,569. Males have a median income of $30,337 versus $21,250 for females. The per capita income for the city is $14,860. 18.3% of the population and 14.3% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 26.9% are under the age of 18 and 11.3% are 65 or older.
