Waleska is a city located in Cherokee County, Georgia. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 616.

Geography Waleska is located at 34°19'5" North, 84°33'11" West (34.317968, -84.552951)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.8 km² (1.5 mi²). 3.8 km² (1.5 mi²) of it is land and 0.68% is water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 616 people, 107 households, and 78 families residing in the city. The population density is 162.9/km² (422.7/mi²). There are 114 housing units at an average density of 30.1/km² (78.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 88.96% White, 3.90% African American, 0.32% Native American, 1.30% Asian, 0.16% Pacific Islander, 0.81% from other races, and 4.55% from two or more races. 2.60% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 107 households out of which 31.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.9% are married couples living together, 10.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 26.2% are non-families. 23.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.43 and the average family size is 2.81.

In the city the population is spread out with 10.7% under the age of 18, 58.4% from 18 to 24, 14.0% from 25 to 44, 11.9% from 45 to 64, and 5.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 21 years. For every 100 females there are 77.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 74.6 males.

The median income for a household in the city is $46,071, and the median income for a family is $51,250. Males have a median income of $26,563 versus $33,750 for females. The per capita income for the city is $11,126. 5.1% of the population and 5.5% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 0.0% are under the age of 18 and 18.9% are 65 or older.
