Vivienne Poy

The Honourable Vivienne Poy, née Vivienne Lee (利德蕙 in pinyin: Li4 De2-hui4; in Cantonese Romanization: Lee6 Dak1-wai6), (born 1941 in Hong Kong) was appointed to the Senate of Canada in 1998. Poy came to Canada as a university student in 1959. She is the first Canadian senator of Asian ancestry. She graduated from St Paul's Co-Educational College, McGill University and University of Toronto.

Poy is the daughter of Li Mingze (利銘澤 pinyin: li3 ming2 ze2) and the sister-in-law of Adrienne Clarkson. Vivienne Poy's husband Neville Poy (伍衛權 pinyin: Wu1 Wei4-quan1; Cantonese: Ng5 Wai6-kyun4), a retired plastic surgeon, is Adrienne Clarkson's brother.
