Vinyl

A vinyl is an organic molecule containing a vinyl group:

where R is any hydrocarbon.

The polymer polyvinyl chloride is frequently referred to as vinyl, and is made by polymerization of the monomer vinyl chloride[?] (CH₂=CHCl).
