Vinita Park is a city located in St. Louis County, Missouri. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 1,924.

Geography Vinita Park is located at 38°41'24" North, 90°20'14" West (38.690022, -90.337310)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.9 km² (0.7 mi²). 1.9 km² (0.7 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 1,924 people, 752 households, and 515 families residing in the city. The population density is 1,017.6/km² (2,628.7/mi²). There are 841 housing units at an average density of 444.8/km² (1,149.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 33.00% White, 61.75% African American, 0.36% Native American, 1.09% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.04% from other races, and 2.75% from two or more races. 1.51% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 752 households out of which 34.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 36.8% are married couples living together, 25.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 31.4% are non-families. 26.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.56 and the average family size is 3.10.

In the city the population is spread out with 29.6% under the age of 18, 9.3% from 18 to 24, 33.2% from 25 to 44, 18.0% from 45 to 64, and 9.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 31 years. For every 100 females there are 87.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 80.4 males.

The median income for a household in the city is $29,482, and the median income for a family is $33,523. Males have a median income of $27,228 versus $23,951 for females. The per capita income for the city is $15,274. 16.5% of the population and 15.1% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 25.0% are under the age of 18 and 9.8% are 65 or older.
