Verden

Verden is a town in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is the capital of the district (Kreis) of Verden. Population: 25,500.

Verden is situated at the Aller river. Verden is famous for a massacre on Lower Saxons in 800, comitted by Charlemagne ("Verden's bloody trial[?]") and for its cathedral.
