Val-de-Marne

Val-de-Marne is a French département, number 94, named after the Marne River[?]. It lies to the south-east of Paris, and is one of three small departmements in the Ile-de-France region that form a ring around the capital.

Préfecture (capital): Créteil[?]

Sous-préfectures: L'Haÿ-les-Roses[?] and Nogent-sur-Marne[?].

Val-de-Marne was largely part of the Seine département until 1968. It and two other small départements, Seine-Saint-Denis and Hauts-de-Seine, form a ring around Paris, known as the petite couronne.
